GiGi’s Café History
The Gaufre Gourmet was born on November 22, 2010 as a food cart in the heart of downtown Portland. Our waffles, succulently sweet and delightfully dense, proved a perfect vehicle for delectable delicacies. Fellow food fanatics frequented our cart and soon, our waffles were a hit!
Over the following years we were lucky enough to be featured on The Food Network, The Cooking Channel, and several books highlighting the food cart culture of Portland. After a lot of hard work and a lot of help from our fans, we celebrated our 4th birthday with the opening of Gigi’s Cafe on November 22, 2014!
Over the years we have let our imaginations run wild, and with a little magic from our waffle wizard, we have created a whimsical menu of wondrous waffles to wow! We vow to bring our customers the freshest and highest quality ingredients, using only cage free eggs and purchasing organic, locally sourced products as often as possible. We are excited to share our creations with you! Bon appetite!
