Lauren, a Portland native, found herself at Church Bar often during her youth. It was more than just a local watering hole for her; it was a welcoming space that fostered inclusivity and provided a haven for the marginalized. When the opportunity arose to take over the bar, Lauren was driven by a desire to maintain and build upon the legacy of openness and acceptance.
Anthony, having called Portland home since the 1st grade, shared Lauren’s sentiment. The couple decided to venture into bar ownership, not just as a business venture, but as a commitment to preserving the unique character of Church Bar.
Their approach is simple – create an environment where everyone feels comfortable. Church Bar is a place that reflects the diversity and spirit of Portland.
